Not many of us truly understand the importance of regularly exfoliating and the benefits it can bring...
Firstly, and most obviously, all the dead, dull skin cells are removed. This then allows any products you put onto your skin to penetrate to where they are needed so that they can work properly.
Secondly, by removing the dead cells, you encourage new cells to be formed- this process slows down significantly as we get older and as a result we look older. By exfoliating, you can actually slow down the ageing process!
Thirdly, by gently increasing the blood supply to the skin, you are 'feeding' the cells and helping them get rid of any toxins that have built up.
Ideally you should be exfoliating 2-3 times a week- be careful though... Don't be tempted to use a product that has unevenly edged particles like crushed fruit stones as these can actually damage the skin, the particles need to be completely spherical to avoid any damage.

OCTOBER UPDATE
Christmas is fast approaching us (I know! I know!) and we now have the new ELEMIS gift boxes in salon. There are some fabulous savings to be had and the boxes range from £25 - £195 so there's something for everyone.
We are offering a client loyalty scheme whereby for every 4 gift boxes purchased, you will receive a FREE Elemis Skin Specific facial worth £45 to be taken in January 2010. You can give the facial as a gift or keep it as a treat for yourself!!
